I will be aiming to get a post a week on the site from the archive and eventually get new photos on the site also, but I’m studying for a degree with the Open University at the moment and working full time it can be difficult to get time to take photographs. I have also just been promoted at work, which gives me even less time. (Update: I’ve finished my Degree with the OU now and should have more time to work on the site, but more importantly more time to take photographs).
I have recently returned to taking photographs (2006) after a break of over 25 years, when I did some work for a community newspaper through a youth employment scheme and I’m hoping to have the time to take more photographs mainly for myself but some for this gallery, so keep an eye out for more images being put up.
My work has appeared in the June 10th 2008 edition of ‘Amateur Photographer’ where my photographs of the Sage at Gateshead won the ‘On Assignment’ feature. The prize for this was a Samsung GX-20 DSLR, wonderful camera but I felt I got more aesthetically pleasing results from my trusty Canon EOS350D.
I live in the North East of England so most of my photography is based there, especially Northumberland and the Yorkshire Coast, though I do get around the country quite a bit, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, London, etc.
